How to celebrate YYC Beer Week

Welcoming the beginning of June means that the third annual YYC Beer Week has arrived in Calgary. Walking around the city during any of the spring or summer months proves that we truly love patio season – particularly when you see the Ship & Anchor packed from March until snowfall. This festive week was created to embrace our love for a good, cold beer.

The idea of YYC Beer Week started in 2016 when a group of friends started sharing their craft beer discoveries on social media. They became the most reliable source on local beer in Calgary with thousands of people going to their social media pages for reviews and recommendations. They decided to take their expertise offline and properly engage the community in Calgary. With that, YYC Beer Week was born. From June 3 – June 9, get out to one of these establishments and celebrate what makes summertime in Calgary so great:

  • Last Best will host the official launch party of YYC Beer Week this year. Your ticket includes a pint and a donation to the Calgary Humane Society. On top of that, $1 from each pint sold will also be donated to the non-profit.
  • Wild Rose Brewery will be featuring a different pint each day for $6. A portion of all proceeds with go to the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society. Try a wide range of beers while also supporting a great cause.
  • Trolley 5is offering a 14oz glass of any Trolley 5 beer with their legendary macaroni and cheese for only $18. This is a deal that can’t be beaten.
  • For only $10, head over to Village Brewery and fill up your growler. While you’re there, buy a pint and help support the Progressive Alternative Society of Calgary.
  • Eighty-Eight Brewing Co. offers you a chance to try their new small batch brew, Night Galaxy. On top of that, they have $4 Hologram Dry Hopped Belgian White Ale and every dollar spent on Tiffany Rose Saison will be donated to the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association.
