A recent survey by the Manning Foundation was released, that polled Calgarians on various issues involving their city. One of the results we found interesting, was that Calgarians were split 50/50 on whether more single-family homes or condos should be built as the city grows.
According to a story in Metro Calgary:
“The survey also found city residents equally split – 41 per cent to 41 per cent – when asked whether Calgary should focus on developing new single-family homes or building more condominiums and residential high-rises as it grows.
A majority of Calgarians, however, supported stronger central planning for the city’s growth.”
We thought this was an interesting question, so we polled our Twitter followers for some feedback, and this is what some of them had to say:
@WesEggink:Homes, better value.
@RkNRollaAyatola:
Single family, so long as they aren’t zoned for rental suites.
@AmberCraig_:
Condos, lots of young professionals here.
