One of the most rewarding parts of being a condo owner can be the amenities that come with living within a condominium community. The amenities of a particular building could also be a huge factor in deciding to buy, not only for the added convenience of certain services, but having a lot of amenities affects condo fees and list price of units. Regardless what amenities are important to you, here are some questions to consider when looking to buy a condo:

Parking: How many stalls are you entitled to? Do you own your stall when you purchase the unit? Is parking underground/heated? How does visitor parking work?

Garbage/Recycling: How does the building handle garbage and recycling? Are there specific hours you can access garbage/recycling areas? Where are the garbage/recycling areas?

Elevators: How many elevators are there in the building? Are there special bookings for elevators if people are moving in/out? How often is maintenance done on elevators? Who do you call if the elevator is down?

Landscaping: What spring/summer landscaping services are provided and how often? What fall/winter landscaping services are provided and how often?

Fitness Centres: What are fitness centre hours? Who can use the fitness centre? What equipment/services are available there?

Meeting/party rooms: What are the hours of usage? Who can book these rooms? Are there additional fees?

Security: Are there any security systems in place (cameras, sensors, alarms)? Are there any security staff?
