When it comes to choosing a condo, Calgarians are more interested in practical amenities, rather than luxuries. While offerings like high-end retail and cafes are nice, it’s not what’s driving purchase decisions for condo buyers, according to Canadian Real Estate Magazine.

Developments positioned near grocery stores are more favourable choices for buyers, which is good information for condo developers, investors and sellers as well. The demand is starting to be met in Calgary, as proposals for six new supermarkets in the core have been submitted in condo-dense areas (as the Calgary Herald reported today).

With more residents choosing car-sharing above car-ownership, landlords are being encouraged to focus their investment away from parking spaces and in developments that offers a greater ‘walkability’ score to all amenities and services. – Canadian Real Estate Magazine
