1. Don’t delay decisions – get things done!

4. Be honest with yourself: some houses are better off to be knocked down and built over than trying to upgrade everything.
5. Don’t do any work without a proper budget, and know that things don’t always go to plan.
6. Keep your kids and animals out of the way to get things done quicker.
7. Live somewhere else during the remodel.
8. Don’t distract the crew – your constant opinions will take away from work being done.
9. The house sometimes needs what you don’t want – certain things won’t work with certain building types.
10. Don’t work without a design.
