Carbon monoxide issues have made their way into the media lately, after home evacuations made the news this week in Calgary. With winter months here, it’s important to ensure you have a carbon monoxide detector in your home, and that it’s in working order. Carbon monoxide is colourless and odourless, and a detector will be your first defence against this dangerous gas.
“On an annual basis across Alberta, we’ll respond to more than 3,000 emergency calls regarding carbon monoxide. So, it’s not like its an uncommon problem,” explains Dan Nicolajsen , the southern Alberta manager for ATCO Gas.
